Elsa Malapit Sargento
Elsa is the current President of Bridge Builders of Anchorage. Born in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she immigrated to Alaska on January 5, 1974, and became an American citizen in May 1979. She was previously Executive Director of the Alaska State Community Service Commission, and is a retired teacher from the Anchorage School District.
Elsa was the first Filipino Alaskan inducted to the Asian Academy Hall of Fame in a Knighting ceremony in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2004. She is the Founder, Past President and Chairman of the Board of Alaska Federation of Filipino Americans, Inc. (AFFA). She is also proud to have been chosen for the following awards:

- BP Teacher of Excellence Award Certificate 1998
