Lusiana Hansen
Lucy T. Hansen has been a strong community volunteer since 1999. She came to Alaska in 1985 from American Samoa, and she has been employed by the State of Alaska for 16 years. In 2001 she was invited to join a Bridge Builders Multicultural Dinner, and was introduced and learned about Bridge Builders of Anchorage. She is an active member of the Polynesian Community and also the President of the Polynesian Association of Alaska, Inc. She helped established the annual Polynesian Flag Day in Anchorage in 2005, and hosted all Polynesian Flag Days after that. She is a host for a new talk show program called “Pacific Islander Local Update” (PILU) on the FIL – AM show. She is the Governor-appointed Council Board Member of Alaska Faith Based and Community Initiative, Council Board Member of Older Persons Action Group (OPAG), Board Member of the Alaska Red Ribbon, secretary of the Lupe ole Fa’aolataga Samoan Christian Church in Anchorage, and many other non-profit organizations. She lives in Anchorage with her family, husband David, 4 children and her 2-year-old grandson. She enjoys community events and loves fishing. |
